DEPOSIT AND CREDIT CARD INFORMATION:
ACCEPTED American Express, MasterCard (not debit or prepaid), Visa (not prepaid). Debit card not accepted unless otherwise stated below. A deposit amount from a minimum of NZD 200.0 to a maximum of NZD 500.0 will be held against your credit card for the duration of the rental. Your deposit is a guarantee held in the event of damage/theft of the vehicle. This will be released if there is no theft or damage during the rental period. Please note that this does not represent your total excess liability which can be found in the Insurance Coverage section. Credit card(s) must be valid for up to 6 months after the rental has ended. NOT ACCEPTED: No other payment types will be accepted. Virtual payment cards are not accepted A valid credit card in the first name and surname (no abbreviations) of the lead driver must be presented at the rental desk in order to pre-authorise/charge a deposit. Please be prepared to provide the PIN number of the credit card(s) presented as suppliers could require this to proceed with the rental contract. In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card, there is a lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card or the credit card is not in the lead driver's name, the car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.

Young Drivers Age: 21 to 24 Years Charge 25 NZD per Day (Excludes Tax)
Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that, if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.
Travel Restrictions
All cross border travel is not allowed.
For inter-island one-way rentals, cars may not be taken on the ferry. Multi-Island Hire can be arranged directly with Budget. A minimum of 72 hours notice is required of the customers intention to cross between the islands (reservations@budget.co.nz). If notice is not given, Budget cannot guarantee a vehicle will be available on the other side.
You will be required to drop your vehicle back to the supplier prior to boarding the ferry and the supplier will provide a vehicle on the other island.
A minimum rental of 3 consecutive days is required on each island, with a minimum total of 6 days across both islands. If this requirement is not met the rental will be charged as two separate hires.
If they collect a car in one island and leave the vehicle in the other island location without Budget authorization, you will face an automatic relocation fee of NZ$450.00 plus GST.
